After School Care

Position Overview:

The After School Care teacher will supervise children in the after school program providing a caring and nurturing learning environment for students participating. Candidates must be professional, responsible, and willing to be part of a team environment and agree to uphold & support the mission and ministry of ISJ Academy.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and management of a group of multi age children

2. Plan and implement activities for students (arts & crafts, games, etc.)

3. Interacts with, initiates and encourages children in daily activities

4. Helps children control behavior using a Christ –centered, positive, consistent approach

5. Helps children to grow to become independent.

6. Prepare the learning environment; sets up interest centers, prepares materials as needed

7. Maintain attendance record signing students in and out

8. Assists students during snack time

9. Maintains good communication with parents, teachers, director, and principal

10. Attends to general housekeeping tasks

11. Attends to needs of individual children with sensitivity

12. Attends required staff meetings and trainings

13. Helps build a supportive, caring team

14. Follow rules and maintain licensing requirements for Childcare Centers in the State of MI.

15. Supports school in other ways as needed/instructed

Requirements:
1. MiRegistry child care training- 24 hours

2. Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to young children

3. Evidence of security and judgment to handle crisis situations

4. Approved background/fingerprint check

5. CPR and First Aid Certification

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

 

• Afternoon shift

• Monday to Friday

 

Ability to commute/relocate:

 

• Grand Rapids, MI 49505: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

 

Experience:

 

• Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)

 

License/Certification:

 

• First Aid Certification (Preferred)

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
